Defected Records presents MK In the House Radio Show!

The first ever mix compilation from the Detroit DJ & producer.
From working alongside some of the world’s biggest pop stars (think Michael Jackson, Will Smith, Pet Shop Boys, Pitbull) to crafting seminal and timeless underground house, Marc Kinchen – better known by his alias MK – is a peerless craftsmen of modern-day music. Arguably enjoying the most prolific artistic form of his life, Defected presents MK In The House is – somewhat unbelievably – his first ever mix compilation; a snapshot of where he currently sits; a 2-disc mix taking in Lana Del Ray, Dusky, Jamie Jones, FCL, Huxley and Kings of Tomorrow, as well as a handful of exclusive MK remixes.

Back in the early 90s, Marc Kinchen almost single-handedly pioneered a signature sound for the then relatively new genre of house music. His releases from that era such as ‘Burning’ and ‘Always’ and remixes like Nightcrawlers’ ‘Push the Feeling On’ are still ubiquitous and have, in the last year or so, served more as house blueprints, copied ad nauseam by young producers of the day. As such, MK’s influence on the current state of house music cannot be underestimated.
Defected presents MK In The House showcases a hand-picked selection of records both new and old. Rather than aiming for different vibes on each of the two discs, the Detroit DJ has recorded one long session that was simply split in two.  “A lot of my DJ friends, I thought they did their mixes and podcasts live, but a lot of them use Ableton” he admits.  “This was the first time I did it that way and it was pretty cool for me.”

The Deep House Scene In Dublin.. By Al Gibbs FM104

Deep house has been seeping back to us here in Ireland since last summer.
Theres no doubt its here to Stay for 2013.

Deep House has been around for a long time, the slower more down tempo little brother of Funky house and distant cousin of New House and Dub house. The deep buzz has certainly caught on in Dublin since late last year.

The genre has always been a nice offshoot of house, but some big crossover tracks last year catapulted the scene into the mainstream
Labels like Hot Creations and recent releases on Defected records have set the tone for a new charge towards all things deep.

The Kitchen Dubllin has been pioneering some deep house nights for about six months now with the introduction of Strictly Deep in room two in December and recent sell out gigs from the likes of Hot since 82 and Lee foss (label boss of Hot creations).

The genre has become so popular that it now has its own weekly club night.
Strictly deep will now take place every weekend from Fri March 22nd in The Kitchen mainroom. There are some huge names coming to the club like Miguel Campbell the man who brought you Somthing Special and other big names....

Freaks on Friday have been championing some of deep tracks like The 2 Bears - work, Candi Staton - hallelujah Anyway and many more since last summer and are delighted to see such diversity in a thriveing Dublin club scene..
Get your snorkling mask because we predict its gonna be deep this summer.
